The Bodum Oolong Tea Pot comes in a distinctive, stylish design. The streamlined slim frame encloses the teapot elegantly. This is a fine tea pot: carrying tea or ice tea, it simply looks great with all kind of different liquids! With its pure traditional design and a see-through sieve collecting swirling tea leaves, the Oolong tea pot suits the tea lover as much as it does the design aficionado. You can use loose tea leaves or tea bags, either way they are easy to remove with the BPA free plastic filter. The Oolong tea pot is made of heat-resistant ultra-light borosilicate glass, rust-free iron plated steel and a plastic handle and lid. All parts are easy to clean and dishwasher safe.
How can I use it?
Tea is a cultural drink, for which there have been many rituals throughout time. As with all old traditions, there is no one right method of making tea. Below however, are the most important steps for success:
• Always use clean tea products and utensils, brown coating in a teapot can give off bad taste.
• Start with cold, fresh water. Cold water contains a lot of oxygen which gives the tea its full flavor.
• Do not overfill the strainer, tea leaves need room to swell in order to reach their full potential and flavor.
• Place the loose tea in the teapot strainer one teaspoon (2g) per cup or at your liking.
• Slowly pour water onto the tea the moment it starts to boil.
• Place the lid on top to keep the water hot.
• Brew the tea to your personal strength (or according to different types of tea).
• Press the plunger down to immediately stop the brewing process.
• Pour the tea and enjoy.
TIPS ON HOW TO MAKE THE PERFECT CUP OF TEA
• Do not heat the Kenya teapot on the stove - heat the water separately and pour it into the teapot.
• For good tea use clean, fresh water just off the boil.
• For brewing green tea, let the water cool for a while before pouring it over the tea (approx. 70° / 158 F)
• Pour the water slowly onto the tea - mixing tea and water this way will allow the tea to reach its full potential.
• Brewing green tea or fruit tea requires a longer brewing time than black tea.
